Law enforcement officers and firefighters in Mississippi can receive additional retirement credit.
Mississippi HB963 amends the state's retirement system to allow law enforcement officers and firefighters who became members on or after July 1, 2011, and have at least four years of service to receive one additional year of creditable service for every five years of service as a first responder. This additional creditable service is provided at no cost to the member.
