Requires health care providers and medical facilities to refund overpayments to patients within 60 days.

Mississippi HB961 mandates that health care providers and medical facilities must refund any overpayments to patients within 60 days of the final determination of the overpayment. Overpayments are defined as any payments exceeding the total amount owed by the patient for services rendered, after final adjudication by all applicable payers. The refund must be made by the same method of payment used by the patient, when practicable, or by check or electronic funds transfer.
