Mississippi HB936 amends the Mississippi Code to extend the COVID-19 Hospital Expanded Capacity Program, administered by the State Department of Health, through July 1, 2029. The program provides grants to hospitals for expenses incurred from March 3, 2021, through December 31, 2024, related to the creation of intensive care units and negative pressure beds. Reimbursements are capped at $200,000 per ICU bed and $50,000 per negative pressure bed. If total reimbursements exceed available funds, the Department of Health allocates funds per bed created.
