HB788

Affidavit ballot; allow to serve as voter registration in certain situations.

Failed·3/3/26

Mississippi HB788 allows voters to use an affidavit ballot as voter registration in specific situations.

Mississippi HB788 amends the Mississippi Code to allow voters to use an affidavit ballot as voter registration if they believe they are registered but cannot present an acceptable form of photo identification, or if they were illegally denied registration. The bill also allows voters to cast an affidavit ballot if they are unable to cast a regular election day ballot under state or federal law but are otherwise qualified to vote.
