Mississippi House Bill 637 authorizes the issuance of state general obligation bonds to fund the construction of the Rural Health Institute at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. The bonds, up to a total of Five Million Dollars, can be issued until July 1, 2030. A special fund, the "2026 South Central Regional Medical Center - Rural Health Institute Fund," is created to manage the bond proceeds.
