Mississippi HB635 amends the state's workers' compensation law to exclude compensation for injuries caused by an employee's willful breach of a reasonable safety rule. The employer or carrier must prove the rule was written, communicated, and acknowledged by the employee, and directly related to the injury. Compensation is also denied if the injury results from illegal drug use, misuse of prescription medication, use of medical cannabis, or intoxication. The act takes effect from July 1, 2026.
