Mississippi House Bill 596 creates the Mississippi Child Poverty Task Force to study and recommend solutions for reducing child poverty. The task force will identify and evaluate the nature and scope of poverty's impact on various locations and populations, and develop strategies for implementing response actions. The task force will also identify and evaluate financial and other resources available to combat poverty, and recommend changes in Mississippi law and policy.
