This bill amends existing law to extend the repeal date of a 3% tax on hotel and motel room rentals in the City of Richland, Mississippi, from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2030. The tax, which is intended to fund tourism and parks and recreation, is levied on the gross proceeds of room rentals. The proceeds are to be placed in a special fund and are not considered general fund revenues. The tax can only be imposed if approved by voters in a city-wide election.
