Mississippi HB382 mandates uninsured motorist coverage in all automobile liability insurance policies.

Mississippi HB382 amends the state code to require that all automobile liability insurance policies include uninsured motorist coverage. This coverage must pay damages for bodily injury or death from an uninsured vehicle, with limits set by the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Law. Policyholders can opt for higher limits up to their bodily injury liability insurance policy limits. The property damage provision may exclude the first $200 of damage unless the policy includes an endorsement for such damages. This act took effect after its passage.
