Mississippi HB354 amends Section 63-3-411 of the Mississippi Code to mandate that law enforcement officers provide approaching motorists with reasonable notification of traffic accidents that obstruct lanes within 1,295 feet or one-quarter mile of the crash site. Notification can be achieved by stationing an officer with activated lights, placing visible signage, or using digital overhead signs. The requirement does not apply if notification is deemed neither possible nor practicable. The act takes effect from July 1, 2026.
