Mississippi HB248 creates a special fund, the "Mississippi Housing Repair Grant Fund," to provide grants for home repairs to low-income individuals. The Department of Finance and Administration will administer the program, issuing up to $50,000,000 in state bonds to fund the grants. Eligible applicants must own at least 50% of their primary home, be 62 years old or older, or disabled, and have an annual income of up to $12,000 for a single person or $16,000 for a household of two or more. Grants will not exceed $25,000 per household or the cost of repairs, whichever is less.
