Mississippi HB242 allows local school boards to employ licensed social workers and psychologists to provide services to students. A school district is eligible for reimbursement if it employs at least one social worker or psychologist for every 1,000 students. The State Department of Education will reimburse the district for 50% of the cost of each social worker or psychologist's salary. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
