Mississippi HB210 would increase Medicaid reimbursement rates for hospitals in counties with high unemployment and doctor shortages.

Mississippi HB210 amends the Medicaid program to provide increased reimbursement rates for inpatient and outpatient hospital services for hospitals in counties with an average monthly unemployment rate of eight percent or higher and a critical shortage of physicians. The increased reimbursement rate for inpatient services is not less than eighty percent of the Medicare reimbursement rate, and for outpatient services, it is not less than eighty percent of the Medicare reimbursement rate. The division shall implement this increased rate of reimbursement by September 1, 2026.
