Mississippi House Bill 1988 authorizes the issuance of state general obligation bonds to fund the construction, furnishing, and equipping of a new fieldhouse at Vardaman High School in Calhoun County. The bonds, up to a maximum of $450,000, will be issued by the State Bond Commission and proceeds will be deposited into the "2026 Vardaman High School Fieldhouse Fund." The fund will be maintained separately from the state's General Fund, and any unexpended amounts will not lapse into the General Fund. The bonds will be exempt from all state taxation and will mature no later than July 1, 2030.
