Mississippi House Bill 1956 authorizes the issuance of state general obligation bonds to fund Calhoun County's purchase of a new ladder truck for the Calhoun County Volunteer Fire Department. The proceeds from the bond sale will be deposited into the "2026 Calhoun County Volunteer Fire Department Ladder Truck Fund." This fund will disburse the money to cover the costs associated with the truck purchase. The total amount of bonds issued cannot exceed $400,000 and must be issued before July 1, 2030. The State Bond Commission will manage the issuance and sale of the bonds.
