Mississippi HB1669 amends the exclusive original jurisdiction of the youth court by providing that the circuit court shall have jurisdiction over a child previously adjudicated delinquent for committing an act with a firearm, if such act would be a felony if committed by an adult, and the child commits a subsequent act. The youth court will not have jurisdiction over offenses committed by a child on or after their eighteenth birthday, nor over abuse, neglect, or exploitation committed against a child after their eighteenth birthday.
