Mississippi HB1457 provides debt forgiveness for utility customers in the Town of Walnut whose gas and water meters were not read for the five years before July 1, 2026. This act forgives the accumulated debt for these customers up until the effective date of the act. After July 1, 2026, these customers will be liable for all charges for water and gas services. The act will be repealed on June 30, 2027.
