Mississippi HB1411 requires school districts to annually test natural gas piping systems in their facilities. The responsible party must conduct a pressure test by a qualified plumber to ensure the system maintains normal operating pressure. Results must be reported to the natural gas supplier and, if a leak is identified, to the school board and State Department of Education. Suppliers must discontinue service if notified of a hazardous leak or if testing is not performed as required. The Mississippi Public Service Commission will implement rules for this act by December 31, 2026.
