The Mississippi High School Student-Athlete NIL Protection Act allows high school student-athletes to earn compensation for their name, image, and likeness, provided the compensation is not contingent on athletic performance. If the compensation is $10,000 or less in a calendar year, it can be paid directly to the student-athlete or their parent or legal guardian. If it exceeds $10,000, the excess must be deposited into a restricted trust account until the student-athlete graduates or turns 18.
