Mississippi HB1391 establishes a task force to study community water fluoridation.

Mississippi HB1391 creates a task force to examine the practice of adding fluoride to water systems for oral health. The task force will assess if negative consequences of community water fluoridation outweigh its positive effects. It will be composed of six members from the House and Senate, the State Department of Health's Executive Director or designee, and two additional appointees. The task force will conclude its study and present findings and recommendations to the Legislature by December 1, 2026. Members will not receive compensation but may be reimbursed for expenses.
