Mississippi HB1251 amends Section 23-15-563 of the Mississippi Code to specify that only a current and valid Mississippi driver's license is acceptable for voter identification purposes. Other forms of identification, including those from other states, are no longer valid. Voters without the required identification may vote by affidavit ballot, provided they present acceptable identification to the registrar within five days. Failure by election officials to enforce this requirement is considered corrupt conduct.
