Mississippi HB1175 prohibits public schools, community colleges, and universities from mandating students to wear face masks, face shields, or any other facial coverings. Students may still choose to wear such coverings at their own discretion. The prohibition does not apply to safety equipment required as part of a course of study for occupational or laboratory safety. The act takes effect from July 1, 2026.
