Mississippi HB1045 allows retirees to work as law enforcement officers for another employer while drawing their full retirement allowance.

Mississippi HB1045 amends Section 25-11-127 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to allow retirees to work as law enforcement officers for an employer other than the one they retired from, while still receiving their full retirement allowance. The retiree may work full-time or part-time, but the total salary from all employment cannot exceed half of the normal working days for the position. The bill specifies that the retiree must notify the executive director of the employment within five days of starting or ending the job.
