Minnesota SF992 amends wetland replacement ratios, requiring one acre of replaced wetland for each acre of drained or filled wetland in areas with 50 to 80 percent wetland coverage, and two acres of replaced wetland for each acre in areas with less than 50 percent coverage. The Environmental Quality Board can establish different ratios for projects with exceptional natural resource value. The bill also allows local governments to reclassify counties or watersheds based on presettlement wetland percentages.
