The bill establishes a process for vacating a court order issued under civil commitment laws if the order was made in error or based on false information. An aggrieved party can petition the court to vacate the order at any time. The court must vacate the order if the petitioner proves by a preponderance of the evidence that the order was erroneous or based on false information. The aggrieved party can also appeal the order as in other civil cases. The changes are effective August 1, 2026.
