Establishes a student mentoring program through the Students Together Respecting the Importance and Purpose of Education in Schools (STRIPES) program.

The bill establishes a student mentoring program through the Students Together Respecting the Importance and Purpose of Education in Schools (STRIPES) program. The program will partner with teachers, parents, community members, and business leaders to facilitate weekly student mentoring meetings, support operations in five existing schools, and expand programming into additional schools. The grant money will also be used to develop partnerships with universities to create a teacher pathway program targeting students with unique backgrounds to enter the teaching profession.
