This bill terminates annual payments by the Monticello nuclear generating plant and modifies the distributed solar energy standard. It also extends the sales tax exemption on residential natural gas and electricity year-round and exempts electric and natural gas facilities from the state commercial-industrial property tax. The bill amends the definition of "solar energy generating system" and sets new proportions for a public utility's total retail electric sales in Minnesota to be generated from solar energy systems.
