City of Vergas authorized to impose a local sales and use tax for park improvements.
The bill authorizes the City of Vergas to impose a local sales and use tax of one-half percent, subject to voter approval. The tax revenue will be used to cover the costs of collecting and administering the tax and to fund the Vergas Park Improvement Plan up to $200,000. The tax will expire either five years after imposition or when the city council determines the funds are sufficient for the project, whichever comes first. The tax is in addition to any existing local sales and use tax.
