Makes injured paramedics and emergency medical technicians eligible for continued health insurance coverage.

This bill amends Minnesota Statutes to ensure that paramedics and emergency medical technicians who are injured in the line of duty are eligible for continued health insurance coverage. The employer is responsible for the continued payment of the employer's contribution for health coverage of the injured individual and, if applicable, the individual's dependents. Coverage must continue for the injured individual for a period of 60 months or until they reach age 65, whichever is earlier. The bill applies to injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2020.
