Minnesota SF3949 allocates $5,000 for university extension educators to provide fair market values of destroyed or crippled livestock. It also provides $125,000 for compensation for livestock destroyed or crippled by wolves and for crop or fence damage caused by elk. If federal funding is received for livestock claims, an equivalent amount may be used for nonlethal prevention methods by federal wildlife services staff. The commissioner may transfer funds between programs if claims are unusually high. This appropriation is available until June 30, 2027.
