Minnesota SF3747 allocates $6.5 million for smart monitored public access safety cabinets on school grounds. The funds will be used to purchase and install up to 1,400 automated external defibrillator (AED) units, each costing $4,500. The Minnesota State High School League will administer the grant program in conjunction with the Department of Education, selecting school districts, charter schools, or Tribal contract schools as recipients. The AED units must be located in publicly accessible areas and comply with Minnesota Statutes, section 403.51.
