Modifies redemption provisions in eviction actions for nonpayment of rent in Minnesota.
The bill amends Minnesota Statutes to modify redemption provisions in eviction actions for nonpayment of rent. It allows tenants to redeem their tenancy by paying the amount of rent in arrears, with interest, costs of the action, and an attorney's fee, and performing any other covenants of the lease. The bill also allows for partial payment of rent in arrears to be applied to the balance due if accepted by the landlord before the issuance of the order granting restitution of the premises.
