Establishes a locally controlled housing fund to support housing development and rehabilitation in Minnesota.
The bill establishes a locally controlled housing fund to support housing development and rehabilitation in Minnesota. It creates two accounts for grants and loans to eligible recipients, including cities, counties, and federally recognized American Indian Tribes. Funds can be used for construction, acquisition, rehabilitation, and furnishing of housing for low- and moderate-income households. The bill also modifies allowable uses of housing infrastructure bonds, authorizes the sale and issuance of state bonds, and appropriates money for the program.
