Abolishes prohibition on issuing certificate of need for new nuclear power plant construction in Minnesota.
This bill amends Minnesota Statutes to remove the prohibition on issuing a certificate of need for the construction of a new nuclear power plant. It also mandates that any certificate of need for additional storage of spent nuclear fuel must address the impacts of continued operations over the period for which approval is sought. This change takes effect the day following final enactment.
