Exempts religious orders from the Minnesota Paid Leave Law.
The bill amends the Minnesota Paid Leave Law to exempt religious orders from covered employment. Religious orders performing duties required by their order are excluded from the law. Entities excluded under this section may opt in to coverage following a procedure determined by the commissioner. The commissioner may adopt rules to further define the application of this subdivision and establish criteria for covered employment for individuals that do not meet the criteria in paragraphs (a) and (b).
