Minnesota SF3426 provides grants to schools for law enforcement emergency entry devices and cancels unused funds from a previous appropriation.
Minnesota SF3426 provides grants to special or independent school districts, charter schools, or cooperative units for law enforcement emergency entry devices. Eligible applicants can apply for up to $1,000 per school building. If more applications are received than funds available, the commissioner must first award one grant to each eligible applicant and then award remaining funds through a lottery. The bill also cancels any unobligated funds from a previous school safety grant appropriation and appropriates $1,810,000 for this purpose, available until June 30, 2026.
