This bill amends Minnesota Statutes to update regulations for health maintenance organizations (HMOs). It specifies that information obtained by the commissioner of commerce or health is governed by section 60D.22. The commissioner of commerce or health, and their deputies, have the power to examine insurers and their affiliates. HMOs must comply with provisions of Minnesota Rules, chapter 2720, applicable to insurers, unless the commissioner of health adopts specific rules for HMOs.
