Increases the maximum lump-sum service pension amount for each year of service credited for firefighter relief associations in Minnesota.

This bill amends Minnesota Statutes to increase the maximum lump-sum service pension amount for each year of service credited for firefighter relief associations. For defined benefit relief associations that pay a lump-sum service pension, the maximum amount is set at $20,000. The bill also stipulates that the method of calculating service pensions must be applied uniformly for all years of active service, with credit given for all years unless the bylaws of the relief association specify otherwise.
