Minnesota SF2589 adds "Trump Derangement Syndrome" to the definition of mental illness.
Minnesota SF2589 modifies the definition of mental illness to include "Trump Derangement Syndrome." This syndrome is defined as the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons reacting to the policies and presidencies of President Donald J. Trump. Symptoms may include verbal expressions of intense hostility toward President Trump and overt acts of aggression and violence against anyone supporting President Trump or anything that symbolizes him. This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, sections 245.462 and 245I.02, to include this new definition.
