The bill amends the eligibility criteria for workforce development scholarships in Minnesota. It allows institutions to add one additional area of study or certification to the list of eligible programs, which currently includes advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health care services, and others. Institutions can change the area of study or certification based on new data every two years. Students must be enrolled for at least nine credits in a two-year college in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system to be eligible for first- and second-year scholarships.
