Expands the definition of fourth-degree assault to include those who physically assault and inflict demonstrable bodily harm on health care providers. The bill amends Minnesota Statutes to include nurses, physicians, and other health care workers in the list of protected individuals. Offenders may face imprisonment for up to two years, a fine of up to $4,000, or both. The changes take effect on August 1, 2025.
