Minnesota SF2288 introduces a surcharge on businesses with pollution control violations. The surcharge applies to corporations and individuals, trusts, and estates with net pollution control income. It is in addition to existing taxes. The surcharge takes effect for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025. The commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency must notify businesses of any known violations and provide delinquency notices if violations are not remedied.
