Expands authorized uses of unmanned aerial vehicles by law enforcement in Minnesota.

The bill amends Minnesota Statutes to expand the authorized uses of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by law enforcement agencies. UAVs can now be used in the risk of, or for purposes of, the lawful pursuit of a fleeing suspect. Other authorized uses include during or in the aftermath of an emergency situation that involves the risk of death or bodily harm, over a public event where there is a heightened risk to safety, and to counter the risk of a terrorist attack if credible intelligence indicates a risk.
