Minnesota SF1581 extends the availability of appropriations for implementing the updated Capitol Mall Design Framework until June 30, 2025. The bill also establishes a Capitol Area community vitality account, into which $5,000,000 is transferred from the general fund in fiscal year 2024. These funds are intended to improve the livability, economic health, and safety of communities within the Capitol Area. The city of St. Paul must consult with the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board before expending these funds.
