Minnesota HF935 permits landlords to request a criminal history background check for tenant organizers who are not residents of the premises. The tenant organizer must consent to the check and pay the landlord the actual cost of the check. A landlord may prohibit a tenant organizer from entering the premises or exercising rights if the organizer was convicted of a crime of violence or refuses to consent to the background check.
