Minnesota HF601 allocates $125,000 from the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for compensation of destroyed or crippled livestock. It also provides $5,000 to reimburse university extension educators for livestock valuation and $40,000 for grants to producers to protect stored crops from elk damage. If federal funding is received for livestock claims, the appropriation may be used for nonlethal prevention methods. The funds are available until June 30, 2026.
