Minnesota HF4867 removes the deposit limit on the consumer protection restitution account and sets distribution limits. Money recovered by the attorney general in a consumer enforcement action must be deposited into the account. Distributions to eligible consumers are prioritized based on the date of the final order. If insufficient funds are available, the attorney general may recommend a formula for prorating or capping payments. Distributions are limited to the full identified amount of unpaid compensation up to $50,000, and 50 percent of any amount over $50,000, up to $50,000.
