The bill establishes an emergency shelter facility grant program in Minnesota to fund projects that improve or expand emergency shelter options. Grants can be used for renovating existing facilities, adding beds, constructing new facilities, and improving safety and habitability of existing shelters. Eligible applicants include Tribal governments, not-for-profit corporations, cities, counties, and housing authorities. At least 40 percent of the appropriation must go to projects in greater Minnesota.
