The bill establishes the Office of Ombudsperson for Anti-Asian, Anti-Asian Indian, and Anti-Religious Hate Prevention to address gaps in identifying and investigating hate incidents and hate crimes targeting persons of Asian and Asian Indian descent. The ombudsperson will receive and review complaints, assist individuals in navigating complaint processes, and provide advocacy and outreach. The office will also develop bias-aware training and education modules for state agencies, law enforcement, and schools.
