Minnesota HF4292 modifies fees for scrap metal copper license applications and renewals.
Minnesota HF4292 amends the fees for scrap metal copper license applications and renewals. Effective July 1, 2026, the bill sets the application fee at $100 and the renewal fee at $100. It also allows the commissioner to deny a renewal if the applicant is noncompliant with federal or state law or fails to submit a timely renewal application. The commissioner can permit applicants to submit a corrective action plan instead of denying a renewal. The commissioner can suspend, revoke, or place a license on probation for fraudulent activity, unpaid fees, or noncompliance with requirements.
